Shirdi’s Shri Saibaba temple hosts Asia’s largest Rooftop Solar Power System in India driven kitchen!

Did you know that the 11,550 sqmt. dining hall or Shri Sai Prasadalaya at the Shri Saibaba temple in Shirdi serves 40,000 devotees each day? And the kitchen uses Solar technology to prepare the Prasada and food. The technology comprises a steam cooking system using Scheffler Dishes. Moreover, from January 1 this year, the food is free for all 🙂

  3. 73 solar dishes, each of 16 sq meter size, produce 4,200 kg steam every day saving around INR 15,000 of fuel expense every day
  4. Finally, the Sai Prasadalaya, the community kitchen of Shri Saibaba Sansthan Shirdi bagged the Concentrated Solar Thermal (CST) and Solar Cooker Excellence Awards – 2016 by the ministry of new and renewable energy (MNRE)
