Different Sections of BSES Bill
Every electricity bill gives out information on your connection, your reading, your due bill amount and your last bill payment.
Personal & Connection Details
BSES bill starts with the section having your personal details. This section also contains information about your connection such as; name, billing address, contact details, billing date and month, your CA number, MDI (maximum demand indicator), sanctioned load, meter number, supply type, meter type and bill basis.
Consumers also receive information about their bill amount through text messages on their number on the bill. In fact, e-bills are also sent to the registered email ids of the consumers. Other than that, your bill basis is also mentioned. Make sure it is ‘actually’ and not provisional.
The next second contains information about your meter and meter reading. Details like meter number, current and previous months billing readings, number of units consumed and number of billing days.
This section makes the bill transparent by giving out detail about the billing of the current month. Apart from fixed charges, this section has slab wise readings with unit and amount, surcharge, electricity tax, refund, last payment surcharge and the total payable charge, all these are mentioned in detail. Once you know all the details, you can yourself calculate and verify your electricity bill. Additionally, any rebate or concession given on your bill is also mentioned here.
The next section tells you about the payment details such as total bill payable amount and due payment date. If the bill is paid after the due payment date, late payment surcharge is added to the next month’s bill. People usually do not pay much attention to this important selection of the bill and end up paying more as they keep on delaying paying their bill payment.
Security Deposit Detail
This section at the bottom gives out the detail of your security deposit with the BSES. This deposit is collected by the discom for the connection. BSES give interest at the minimum interest rate on the security amount deposited. This is included and compensated in the first bill of every new financial year.
This section as the very bottom is a computer-generated payment which you get if you pay the bill offline. It also has information for paying the bill through cheque or DD.
Apart from the details, the bill also has a customer support number. Consumers from Delhi can use the number given on the top of the bill to ask any query or register their complaints.
